Care Home Services

We're committed to bringing the library service to the whole community, including those who for various reasons are unable or unlikely to access the services we provide in our main building.

Our Outreach Team deliver special programmes, events and services to adults in a number of settings beyond the main Library, including in Care Homes around the island.

Tea and Tales

Do your residents enjoy being read to? The Library's free Tea & Tales service sees our staff pay a visit to read stories aloud to a group.

Residents can engage and be part of book-related discussions if they wish to. Or they can just sit back and enjoy the story. It's also a chance for residents to meet others and make friends, chat and have fun. Our themed sessions include accompanying photographs and pictures to bring stories to life on topics like the old Guernsey Zoo, the tomato industry, fishing, local shops, and Guernsey characters.

Tea & Tales currently reaches more than 100 residents per month. To find out more and arrange a visit, contact Jackie Burgess on 720392 or email [email protected]
