Visitors of all ages can enjoy BOUNDLESS CURIOSITY.
Explore the history of the Library and discover the fascinating story behind our Victorian origins. Pick up our family trail sheet - there are objects to spot, questions to answer, and ideas to discuss. The trail follows the main exhibition route. Collect your sheet in the Entrance Hall or the Children’s Library.
Need a clue? Keep an eye out for the parrot!
But that's not all! Make sure to visit our Little Victorian Library to find out what life was like when Thomas Guille and Frederick Allès first opened the Library 140 years ago.
Dress up in Victorian costumes, discover items in our cabinet of curiosities, and try our model Cotgreave Indicator to see how librarians kept track of all the books in a time long before computers.
The Little Victorian Library is in the Clifton Room on the first floor (opposite the Children's Library).
Finish your exhibition journey in the Children’s Library with extra crafts and activities based on the exhibition centrepiece, The Birds of America.
We're also hosting an exciting range of family events and activities over the school holidays to tie in with the exhibition. Keep an eye on our events page for more details.
